The Vietnam vacation

There are few things in the world which I love more than the feeling of hitting the alarm snooze button. Vacations are one of them. Well, vacations with quality rest that is.

Some of the cameras i brought along with me to Vietnam
Now after having spent 5 days in Ho Chi Minh, the word to summarize it all up would be luxurious. We ate to our hearts content, without any hesitation from the price tags.
Vietnam's national dish, Pho
Vietnamese kebabs from Ngon restaurant
Vietnamese drip coffee from Trung Nguyen Coffee
To top it of we stayed at a 4 star hotel and slept for around 10-12 hours each day. Each and everyone of us slept like a log.

Well furbished rooms at the Saigon Paragon Hotel
Vietnam was once colonized by the French, even without doing any research, it's evidently seen by the amount of French boutiques and restaurants located at the heart of Ho Chi Minh, district 1.

Pain brioche from Au Parc Saigon
Short Ribs Provencale with fries
The remnant of the gigantic French Notre-Dame Basilica proves the deep french connection this city has.

Towering view of the Cathedral
Interior of the Cathedral
Climbing up the gates of the cathedral vantages you a good lookout point. Elevated at this height, it's easy to just squint your eyes imagine that you're in the french indochina era.

Taking a breather to just enjoy the atmosphere
I even had the chance to interact with a local coconut seller! We eventually made his day by buying all his remaining coconuts.

We met him right outside the Ben Thanh Market
All in all, we had a great time! Everyone ate well, slept well and played well.

Took this picture by the Saigon River
Before heading back home!
To end off, here a short poem i came up with!

"You know you're on vacation, when you're free from medication.

Ensuring that you really rest, living each day to the best.

The food you eat, they aren't cheap.

And the things you drink, they make you think.

But hey it's all okay, why? cos you're on VACAY."
Cheers!
